Men’s basketball team extends win streak to five

Cal Poly’s men’s basketball team played three games against Cal State San Bernardino, Chico State, and Cal State Stanislaus last week and won them all 63-59, 69-61, and 65-32, respectively. The Broncos have won seven straight. The last time a team scored fewer than 32 points against the Broncos was 31 years ago when the Broncos topped Cal State Bakersfield 30-26 in the 1978-79 season. Women's basketball team wins big games

Reyana Colson delivered a last-minute winner to lead the Cal Poly women’s basketball team over Sonoma State Friday, then went on to beat Humboldt state the following night, to expand their conference standing to 5-1 CCAA, and 8-2 overall. Friday’s game against Sonoma State was hard fought the whole way through, with the scoreboard showing a tied score of 46 with a mere minute and a half left on the clock.

Junior guard Reyana Colson of the women’s basketball team scored nine points in the Broncos’ win over Humboldt State. Out of context, this information isn’t anything special. But in context, this stat is very important. It marks the end of a streak of double-digit scoring games for Colson, which ended at 34.

After battling through three rounds of playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers have made it to the NBA Finals again, this time against the Orlando Magic.
